superb Cavansite TN (Gressman Coll.)

Item Description

This is NOT a common style for cavansite, and in fact is a rare crystal habit and overall an exquisite thumbnail for the species. The color is a neon blue, breathtaking and at the top of the spectrum for what can be had. Perched on a matrix of snow white stilbite crystals is a lustrous cluster of cavansite with the rare elongated habit of crystallization, reaching 2 cm. The crystals have a metallic shimmer to them, rare now and seen only a few times in special pockets. This is an old one, from nearly 20 years ago (we know, as we bought it from KC Pandey at the time and resold it domestically here). This is, quite simply, one of the best cavansite thumbnails I have ever seen for condition and aesthetics combined with a unique crystal style that sets it above the typical. We therefore value it highly, and always have even from the day it came out! There are a lot of small cavansites out there, but not all small cavansites equal a fine, competitive level thumbnail specimen. Two very different things!
