Simply put, a superb and classic small cabinet cluster of gem, colorless, nailhead-spar Calcite crystals from the famous, extinct iron mines of Egremont, Cumbria, England. The sharp crystals in this aesthetic 360-degree, jackstraw piece reach 3.0 cm and have satin luster faces. The interior cross-hatching in the crystals adds real character. Formerly in the dealer stock of Herb Obodda. Ex Shields Flynn Collection. Specimens of this quality are easily over 100 years old and this is an exceptional example from finds of the mid to late 1800s. A world-wide classic calcite, and for size and quality valued at $1500-1800.
