Item Description

Here is an excellent combination specimen from Mt. Malosa, Malawi featuring important, textbook elongated crystals of the slightly green mineral Arfvedsonite , which distinguishes it from black aegerine from the same location. Several mostly pristine, lustrous, prismatic, dark green Arfvedsonite crystals are very aesthetically set with some flesh colored Orthoclase crystals. The big crystalsrange in size from less than 1 up to 4 cm in length and average 1.2 cm across. They have square cross-sections, great luster and and ragged, complex terminations. The five Arfvedsonite crystals are balanced well with a pair of Orthoclase crystals on one side that measure 1.5 and 3.3 cm in maximum dimension, respectively. (small skinny aegerine is in association as well). This is outstanding combination material from this famous locality, with not much new material coming out in the last few years.For a darkly colored mineral, this is somehow amazingly aesthetic and sculptural.
