Item Description
Ajoite is a VERY RARE copper-related silicate. This is a KILLER, UNPOLISHED, thumbnail, natural quartz crystal that displays as RICH a zone of concentrated, turquoise-blue ajoite inclusion that you can ask for. Truly a very fine thumbnail by ANY standard for the collector of all things quartz, copper or South African. This super piece is from the famous, small, 1985 find from the famous Messina Mine of South Africa, source of the VERY BEST ajoite-included quartz crystals. The ajoite phantom is FABULOUS and there are many clay inclusion flecks! The termination is complete all-around and pristine and the jauntily set sidecar crystal is a real bonus. The contacting on the back is totally out of sight. This is a gorgeous and unique specimen. Ex Rob Smith Collection, who marketed the 1985 find. Valued at $200-300.
