Item Description

One of the most exceptional things I have seen from the United States is Sunstone from Oregon. It's a big deal for the simple fact that it's GEM QUALITY Feldspar, which is rather rare in nature if you consider how much Feldspar exists within the Earth's crush. This material from Oregon comes in a myriad of colors ranging from yellow, orange, red, green and even blue in rare cases. Aside from the extremely rare blue variety, the most hard to find color of this material in good size stones is red. This stone has a beautiful champagne hue which is the most well known shade for this material, and you can see there is a lovely pinkish-peach hue in the center created by tiny inclusions of native copper, creating what is commonly known as "schiller" which is a shimmer in the stone, that is best seen when rotated in the light. The cut on this gem is a "Checkerboard Round Brilliant" Don't miss out on this great U.S. gemstone.
