Sunstone (large 4-ray star)

Sunstone is gem quality Labradorite Feldspar, and is only found in a handful on localities around the world in fine quality gems. The stones from India are some of the most famous Sunstones, as they come in a wide variety of colors. Sometimes these gems will produce a "star" effect, also called asterism. This stone is an "Oval Cabochon" cut gem with a very rich honey-golden hue, but when strongly lit, it shows a 4-ray star! The stone is included, like most Indian Sunstones, but the "star" is what matters here. These stones stand as some of the most recognizable and attractive Sunstones on the market today. This particular gem is the largest 4-ray star Sunstone that I have offered in the auctions.
