Item Description
Sicilian Sulfur specimens are the standard for the species in terms of sharpness, size, color and gemminess of the crystals. This piece is a dramatically sculptural small cabinet specimen from this historic Agrigento mine. The piece is highlighted several striking crystals with excellent sharpness, luster and nearly water clear transparency. The largest crystal measures 1.5 cm. The crystals near the top of the specimen have a fantastic glowing yellow to golden-yellow hue, which transitions into a darker hue to petroleum (bitumen) inclusions important proof they are real, and not man-made. Overall a very fine old-time specimen from this well-known locality that has produced some iconic Sulfur specimens.
