Item Description
Anything from New Zealand is a treat to see! Sulfur specimens are rare from this New Zealand locality - a lake formed in the caldera of the Taupo volcano, that last erupted about 1800 years ago (MINDAT). This sculptural two-sided bright canary-yellow spearpoint thumbnail is composed of intergrown stepped-growth crystals with striking skeletal features. Ex Al Kidwell Collection and acquired in 1986. Excellent and RARE crystallized sulfur from the North Island of New Zealand. A fine, surprising thumbnail specimen!
