Item Description

A fantastic matrix sulfur crystal specimen from an ancient mine, probably opened by the Romans. A monumental, 2.8 cm, bipyramidal sulfur crystal is dramatically set on matrix. Both the highly lustrous, translucent sulfur crystal and matrix are included with bitumen. Interestingly, no fluorescence. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. The form and aesthetics of this piece are outstanding and the crystal is pristine. valued $900-1200
