Item Description

Minerals specimens are rare from the "mines" in a series of fumaroles in Baja California. Tiny gemmy rounded sulfur lemon drops are scattered along one edge of the most unusual looking gypsum matrix. The strange matrix consists of curved ropy parallel-growth clusters of very glassy gypsum droplets. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 435 after a 1957 club show. Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017. A RARE, old style sulfur and gypsum combination from Mexico.
