Item Description

Bright, gemmy and lustrous, canary-yellow, sulfur crystals to 2.5 cm richly cover the knobby, crystallized matrix of calcite on this dramatic CABINET specimen from the famous mines of Sicily. Excellent old-time, two-sided material from this historic locale. Periphery wear is noted on one end, but the rest of the piece is in super shape, including the base. Striking pink fluorescence on the backside with the calcite pseudomorphing the large blocky, hexagonal aragonite crystals! The piece displays very well without any aid. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection. Valued at $600-800.
