Item Description
This is just a strange object found in an old collection, which was simply labelled as "Pennsylvania" in origin. It is a sample of mine timber, with tiny crystallized and masses of sulfur on it, that seems to have come from a mine fire. One can only shudder to think about the air the miners were breathing, if there is enough sulfur floating around in the air to do this in a fire! We assume this is from one of the Pennsylvania sulfur-rich coal mines. It is just an interesting mining oddity.
