Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous Sulfurs from Sicily. The best of these specimens are regarded as the finest crystallized examples of the species ever found. This large miniature / small cabinet specimen features an electric yellow crystal group measuring 3.4 cm across perched atop micro crystallized white Celestine matrix. The sulfur is complete all around, with no major damage that I can see. A showy display specimen that would make a great addition to any suite of Italian minerals, native elements or worldwide Sulfurs. For reference, it has been widely suggested that this species should now be spelled S-U-L-F-U-R as both the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry along with the British Royal Society of Chemistry adopted this spelling in the 1990s (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur#Spelling_and_etymology)
