Item Description
Fine crystallized Sulfurs are not common around the world, but pieces from Vodinskoe, Russia are certainly among the best for the species. This very sharp and incredibly well-formed miniature specimen has excellent luster and internal gemminess with a glowing yellow hue. There are several TEXTBOOK crystal faces on the piece which are incredibly smooth and well-formed, which is not common for Sulfur as a species. When backlit, you can see that the crystals are INCREDIBLY GEMMY inside, virtually WATER CLEAR! It's nearly a "floater", save one little contact on the bottom. Very little damage and very worthwhile for any collector of the material. Valued at $750. For reference, the species should now be spelled S-U-L-F-U-R as both the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry along with the British Royal Society of Chemistry adopted this spelling in the 1990s (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulfur#Spelling_and_etymology)
