Item Description

A forest of sulfur crystals covers this showy large piece from an amazingly gemmy batch of specimens that came out recently from this contemporary sulfur find. The finds of beautiful crystallized sulfur in Bolivia came at a great time, when old specimens from Sicily have become really hard to get and expensive, and only a trickle is coming from Russia. The crystals on this specimen are PARTICULARLY gemmy, not opaque bright yellow, but TRANSPARENT and jewel-like (much better in person! The camera does not come close to capturing them; they are really like bright gems - way beyond Italian or Russian sulfurs in brightness and luster! This piece is in great shape, except for trivial periphery wear and a few barely noticeable broken crystals. This excellent piece has compound crystals up to about 2.0 cm long.
