Item Description
From an amazingly gemmy batch of specimens that came out recently from this contemporary sulfur find. The finds of beautiful crystallized sulfur in Bolivia came at a great time, when old specimens from Sicily have become really hard to get and expensive, and only a trickle is coming from Russia. The crystals on this plate are PARTICULARLY gemmy, not opaque bright yellow, but TRANSPARENT and jewel-like (much better in person!). The camera does not come close to capturing them; they are really like bright gems - way beyond Italian or Russian sulfurs in brightness and luster! Periphery wear is noted along the edges, and there are a few broken, barely noticeable crystals in the interior, but they are only a modest detraction from this impressive specimen. The striking, long compound crystal is 5.5 cm long. They look like yellow flames reaching upward.
