Sugilite is a rare lithium silicate and this very showy and excellent piece features isolated, large sugilite crystals to 1.0 cm, which is RARE. The vibrant purple sugilite crystals are encased in starkly contrasting glassy to massive pectolite. The base and back has been sawed to enhance the outstanding display quality. This is an extremely fine and rare combintion specimen from the famous Wessels Mine of South Africa. This sugilite varietal is very desirable and hard to obtain today.
