Sugilite - large, rich specimen

A relatively large specimen consisting of nearly solid, extremely rich, fibrous crystals of sugilite all grown together , from the world's best locality for the very rare species. This relatively recent find here came out of only a few small pockets, in the mid 2010s as I recall, and this would definitely be considered a rather large example! This masses 58 grams, and shows sugilite on all sides. Stabilized with epoxy, it probably has some carving rough value - but the specimen value lies in the wonderful display areas shown on all sides, sowing the lines of fibrous sugilite with their rich royal purple color. In a very few spaces, preserved within a nest or at the edge of the fibers, are thin platy sugilite crystals that are even more uncommon, still, and reflect sparks of light like purple aluminum foil.
