Sturmanite on Brucite (ex Ludi von Bezing)

Two striking clusters of vivid translucent, lemon-yellow, gemmy Sturmanite crystals are aesthetically set on the sculptural, dense, hefty manganite ore matrix covered with a myriad of coated Brucite microcrystals. The impressive large sturmanite crystal cluster is 1.8 cm across although individual crystals are smaller. Brucite is definitely one of the lesser known species from the famous N’Chwaning Mines. Brucite is an uncommon magnesium hydroxide. Formerly in the Ludi von Bezing Collection, well-known South African collector and author. He is the primary author of the massive, excellent 2007 coffee table book, Namibia - Minerals and Localities. Recently also in the R.D. Mushlitz Collection. Uncommon in this combination quality and with the color contrast upon the brucite.
