Item Description
A really fine quality and classic Sturmanite miniature featuring electric golden-yellow color crystals with sharp, lustrous faces sitting on matrix. The crystals are incredibly gemmy for the species and show a rarely seen tabular (compressed) habit. Nearly every crystal is damage free, and they look beautiful up close. The largest Sturmanite measures 6 mm across. The combination of the color, luster and gemminess makes this a very attractive and worthwhile Sturmanite from this classic locality. Valued at $750. These pieces are becoming more and more difficult to find, especially in showy, well crystallized specimens such as this. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
