This specimen is part of the 2020 Dallas Mineral Collecting Symposium benefit auction, with proceeds benefiting Mineralogical Record, Rocks & Minerals, Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, and mindat.org. Thanks to all of our participants!

A textbook crystal of sturmanite, in this case a really lustrous brown crystal with amazing symmetry. Fine example of the species for a thumbnail. Although they can have color, this one is actually really attractive in its own way, and has a surface luster that many do not. Photo by Jingnan Zhang.
