Strontianite with GEM Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A attractive combo from an undisclosed locality in Pennsylvania featuring radial groups of white Strontanite measuring up to 7 mm across associated with WATER CLEAR little crystals of scalenohedral Calcite measuring up to 3 mm. This piece could be from the Meckley's Quarry in Northumberland County, or possibly the Faylor-Middle Creek Quarry in Union County, or potentially the National Limestone Quarry #2 in Snyder County. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5589). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
