Item Description

Oxide tinting covers the classic, spiky, white strontianite balls, to 2.3 cm, nicely scattered on the undulating limestone matrix covered with druzy, oxide-tinted calcite. Oxide-tinted strontianite hemispheres of this richness are uncommon from here. The noted bruising is certainly only a minimal detraction. The untinted strontianite areas fluoresce white under LW UV light. Ex George Loud Collection No. 2196 and acquired in 1995. Showy, highly representative combination material from this well-known Pennsylvania limestone quarry.
