Item Description
The classic Strontianite specimens from Oberdorf are the finest examples of the species, and true classics. This is a gorgeous and fine quality small cabinet display specimen featuring several, sharp, lustrous, translucent, soft "smoky" golden color orthorhombic Strontianite crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm sitting atop a layer of Magnesite on matrix. The piece is very aesthetic and showy with virtually no damage to the Strontianite crystals, save the back section where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. The Strontianite crystals are also rather lustrous, and somewhat gemmy, and they don't have that irritating brown coating that so many from this locality can have (which is nearly impossible to remove without destroying the underlying Strontianite). Valued highly for the quality, overall displayability and size. Priced at $2,500 retail in our inventory.
