Strontianite (ex Obodda)

Item Description

This specimen comes to us from the dealer stock of Herb Obodda, and is labeled as being PROBABLY from Munsterland, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. I trust the label, but if somebody has information that the piece is from another locality, just let us know. A somewhat "jackstraw" group of prismatic, fairly thick Strontianite crystals with a soft yellow-white color. The center of the specimen is in great shape, but the periphery is clearly contacted from its removal from the pocket. The largest crystal measures 3.0 cm. Good quality for this classic German material, and hard to find on the market today.
