Strontianite

First rate (and rare for the species) hexagonal crystals of Strontianite sitting on a drusy matrix of Calcite and Celestine. The Strontianites are sharp, lustrous, and the creme color grades to a lovely amber at each termination. Some are doubly-terminated, but what really makes this piece is the 2.7 cm fan of crystals that adorns the top of this small cab. This cluster is the 'piece de resistance' to a specimen that is well-balanced and virtually perfect. With killer aesthetics (much better in person, even) from a classic old locale, it was originally priced at $1,200.
