Item Description

Strickblende is an association of galena and sphalerite. This striking and sculptural sawed and polished end slab is highlighted by the vuggy botryoidal galena dramaticaly enclosed in banded, multi-hued colloform sphalerite. A choice, artistic and very rich ore specimen from this extinct old zinc and lead mine. Formerly in the Leon Hupperichs Collection and was collected on the dumps in the mid-1970s.
