Item Description

This old classic contains what are considered some of the finest Strengite crystals ever found. These rare phosphates, up to 6 mm, are incredibly GEMMY, have excellent luster, and are a beautiful purple color. Associated with the Strengites are rose-pink crystals of the uncommon hydrated Fe-phosphate Phosphosiderite. This is a rich and important combination specimen, and collecting at this quarry is now strictly prohibited. Formerly in the collections of the State Museum of Mineralogy and Geology, Dresden, Germany, and Richard Kosnar.
