Item Description
A beautiful and classic example of the famous Swedish Strengites featuring botryoidal crystals of a lavender hue measuring up to 2 mm on oxidized matrix. Specimens of this uncommon iron phosphate are seldom seen on the market, and considering that if you remove Amethyst, purple minerals are probably the rarest of all colors in the mineral world. A lovely specimen that would make a nice addition to any collection. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11089), and the accompanying label states that it was mined in 1986. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
