Item Description

An aesthetic specimen of lustrous, honey-brown Siderite crystals to 7 mm perched on and among brown-black, micro Stilpnomelane crystals. The Stilpnomelane coats a matrix of varied sulfide minerals, and the reddish pink mineral is likely Hematite-stained Dolomite. A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME New York specimen from the historic Sterling Iron Mine at Antwerp, which closed in 1910. Highly representative, and with very good associations, this choice old material is seldom available today. Ex. Bill Smith.
