Item Description

Desmine is an antique name for Stilbite. This classic, rich and excellent old-time plate is covered with sharp glassy, translucent golden-yellow stilbite crystals and nicely accented with scattered blocky reddish-orange chabazite crystals. The underlying matrix is granitic. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2409 and acquired from Scott Williams in the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record) and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Comes with two antique, century-old labels. Old-time specimens of this combination quality and richness from here are rare.
