Item Description
An exceptional and sculptural miniature fan of chocolate-colored, translucent stilbite blades from the famous Himalaya Mine. Late-stage secondary minerals of the Zeolite Group, such as stilbite and laumontite, are known from the pegmatite, but high quality, aesthetic specimens, such as this, are indeed RARE. See the Himalaya Mine articles in the 1977 Mineralogical Record California Special Issue, Vol. 8, No. 6 and the 2002 Mineralogical Record issue, Vol. 33, No. 5 for more information on the mine. Self collected in his own mine and Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection, former owner of the mine and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook.
