Item Description
Moonen Bay is a locality renowned for its fine Zeolite Group mineralization, and this excellent Stibite cabinet piece exemplifies that quality. The well-developed, thin, highly-lustrous, and pearlescent blades reach up to 2.8 cm in length, and many merge together and blossom into excellent clusters. In fact, many of these clusters are basically half of Stilbite's famous 'bowtie' habit, which are highly coveted. This piece is rich and attractive, expertly collected by Mike Woods in 2003 from a "rockfall near some boulders" according to his label. A fine cabinet display piece from an impossible to get locality! Recently deaccessed from the Tim Sherburn collection. Valued $750-1000
