Item Description

Two generations of pearlescent stilbite blades preferentially coat part of the gemmy and lustrous, doubly terminated, bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. Most of the crystal is glorious "Himalaya pink", with both terminations having pretty green zones. The tourmaline is pristine. Larger stilbite blades, to 1.2 cm, dramatically project off the field of much smaller stilbites. Stilbite is relatively uncommon from the Himalaya. One does not generally think of zeolites in pegmatites, but here is a very fine example from a noted locale. 33 grams. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections (definitely an older piece). Valued at $700-900.
