Stilbite on Datolite

Item Description

This Trap Rock locality is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) Zeolite localities in the world. This quarry has produced some amazing specimens in the last 100 years. This particular specimen is a good display piece consisting of lustrous, golden brown colored "sheaves" of Stilbite sitting on green, crystals of Datolite on matrix. Recently collected in the Park, and certainly among the last specimens that will come out of the quarry, since it's very close to the end. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
