Sir Robert Ferguson, 1767-1840, was a major English mineral collector of the period and assembled a substantial collection. This is an outstanding and aesthetic, large, old-time specimen from this classic locality! A striking, 5.5 cm cluster of pearlescent, creamy stilbite crystals is jauntily perched on the tip of a very sculptural, bubbly, nubby matrix. The doubly terminated crystal is 4.0 cm and the club-shaped crystal is 3.5 cm. I sold this very fine piece to Dave Bristol in 1998, after I had acquired a portion of the vast Ferguson collection.
