Stilbite (ex Allen Heyl Collection)

A beautiful cabinet display specimen of the hard to find but well-known Stiblite from the famous Fairfax quarry in Centreville, Virginia. The piece is filled with light golden color Stilbite "sheaves" with good translucency, luster and crystal form. The piece comes from the collection of geologist Allen V. Heyl (the species Aheylite was named in his honor), and according to Allen's personal collection label, the crystals on the specimen are very near Stellerite in their chemistry. Very hard to find on the market today, especially in this size range.
