Item Description

An outstanding, sculptural miniature stilbite specimen from this famous and extinct New Jersy traprock quarry, that operated from 1893-1925. Many more fine specimens were recovered in the 1980s during quarry trimming for housing construction. This very aesthetic 360-degree specimen hosts golden-brown, sharp, lustrous to pearlescent sheaves and blades of stilbite. The central dominating bladed sheaf, at 3.0 cm, is remarkable.
