Item Description
Here we have a beautiful and aesthetic combo specimen of this classic material from Pune (Poona), India featuring a beautiful ''bow tie''-shaped group of soft beige colored crystals of Stilbite-Ca associated with a very soft pinkish-tan colored crystals of Heulandite-Ca on one end, with minor attached matrix. The Stilbite "bow tie" measures 8.3 cm long, and the largest Heulandite measures XXXXXXXXX mm. The piece is in great shape overall. The displayability is wonderful as you can see from the video. Indian Zeolites may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant.
From the collection of world famous mineral dealer Richard ("Rich") A. Kosnar (1946-2007), who was the namesake for the phosphate Kosnarite. Rich was born and raised in northern New Jersey, and grew up collecting trap rock minerals in the various quarries, and had a love for zeolites from around the world.
