New Jersey traprock zeolites are famous in the old school collecting community because they have been around for 200 years and so many legendary collectors cut their teeth on collecting these. This is an oldtimer, collected at least several decades ago, of exceptionally nice stilbite from this classic traprock quarry of New Jersey. The crystals are tan colored, translucent, and reach 5.0 cm across. This is an extremely aesthetic, large, and fine example of stilbite from the US and particularly from this locale! A large, pretty display specimen of this classic material. Valued $500-plus (higher than a comparable Indian stilbite might fetch) for location.
