The famous Prospect Park Quarry is one of the most impressive (and under appreciated) East Coast localities. It has given collectors truly fine specimens of various zeolites and species like Prehnite for 100+ years. Sadly, the locality is completely finished, and is being filled in for a housing development. This piece came out in 2014, near the end of production at "The Park" and features a good sized (4.8 cm) lovely, sharp, lustrous, brown / honey-colored Stilbite "bow tie" group comprising dozens of "sheaf"-like crystals which are associated with smaller Stilbite "blades" plus peach colored Heulandite and minor matrix. The Stilbite have very good luster with and translucency / gemminess in areas. Very good quality all around, and certainly a wonderful piece to add to any zeolite suite or a collection of East Coast / NJ minerals.
