Item Description

Scolecite and stilbite combinations of this size, quality and richness are RARE the Nashik District and this impressive and aesthetic piece is from a New Find. The sculptural large plate of beautiful salmon-pink, lustrous and translucent stilbite blades is dramatically flanked by two-sprays of very glassy, colorless scolecite needles. The striking large spray has needles to up 7.0 cm long. Yes, there are broken needles, but they are certainly only a modest detraction. Combinations such as this are extremely difficult to extract without damaging some of the needles. This remains an exceptional and rich large example of combination species from the New Find. The famed Deccan Traps of India continue to supply an outstanding selection of Zeolite Group specimens. Valued at $750-1000. This piece would be much more, if perfect.
