Item Description
Pearlescent, pastel-yellow, translucent, parallel-growth, tabular stilbite crystals with spearpoint terminations are densely intergrown on this sculptural and attractive large plate from this uncommon North Carolina locality - the Martin Marietta Quarry. The periphery wear can be strongly minimized by the correct display angle. Collected by Steve Adams in June, 2000. Ex John Whatley Collection and acquired from Steve Adams in August, 2000. John was a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022). A surprising, rich, choice and uncommon stilbite from North Carolina.
