Item Description

Stichtite is a rare hydrated chrome carbonate of the hydrotalcite group.and this rich, showy specimen is from near the Type Locality in Tasmania. Waxy luster and feel, pretty lilac-colored stichtite covers one face of the lustrous, bedded, chrysotile serpentinite matrix. A very highly representative and rich combination example of the rare species. Ex Knapp Collection (with a 1984 date) and James Webb Collection.
