Item Description
This piece was mined in the late 1970s when there was an major discovery of what are the best Stibnites from any Bolivian locality (or any South American locality). Before the specimens from the Wuling Mine in China hit the market in the early 2000s, these Bolivian pieces were some of the best Stibnites found in decades. This particular piece is a gorgeous crystallized "spray" composed of dozens of lustrous, sharp, metallic, silvery colored "sword"-shaped crystals of Stibnite associated with "balls" of golden Marcasite which show a slight iridescence on the surface. There is a smaller secondary overgrowth of Stibnite on top of the Marcasites as well for a nice touch. A showy and good quality classic Bolivian Stibnite specimen, rarely seen on the market now. The best of these pieces were imported by Richard Kosnar, and this is a very good representation compared to most we've had to offer. Valued at $650.
