Item Description
For decades these specimens were labeled as coming from the La Salvadora Mine in the City of Oruro, Bolivia but the correct locality is actually the Salvadora Mine near the town of Caracollo about 25 miles northwest of the city of Oruro. These specimens were mined in the late 1970s and are some of the finest Stibnites from anywhere in Bolivia. This is a wonderful display piece filled with excellent, sharp, highly lustrous, metallic silvery colored prismatic crystals, which are associated with attractive iridescent botryoidal Marcasite, which is rarely seen from this locality. Excellent condition, and highly aesthetic! A fantastic example of this fine classic material from over 40 years ago.
