Stibnite with Calcite

A really cool large stibnite and calcite combination from the world's largest antimony mine - the Xikuangshan deposit. Striking diverging vertical sprays of numerous, lustrous, metallic stibnite crystals with Spike terminations (not usual wedge-shaped terminations) are dramatically highlighted by the two large bent spikes and stout spike at the top. Embedded horizontal stibnite crystals and numerous starkly contrasting preferential clusters of creamy flattened calcite rhombohedrons are super accessories to this very sculptural 360-degree specimen. There are very few broken vertical spikes. All of the horizontal stibnites have broken ends, which is acceptable in removing this very sculptural piece from the vug. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection, a well-known German collector who amassed a world-wide collection of over 6000 pieces. Fascinating, very artistic and unusual large stibnite and calcite combination from the noted locale. Hard to value because it is so unique. It is also sturdy and shippable!
