Item Description

This locality in northern Romania actually dates back to the time of the Romans, and is one of the more significant European localities for Stibnite This piece is a very showy classic Romanian Stibnite specimen featuring one predominant, rather THICK, attractive, metallic, semi-lustrous, striated, silvery color prismatic crystal which is bursting out of a "jackstraw" group of additional Stibnite crystals While a few of the Stibnite crystals are broken, many of them are in good shape, which is more than can be said of many of the Stibnite specimens from this locality. The final touch to the piece is the fact that the main Stibnite crystal has a "capped" termination almost like a scepter growth, which is extremely unusual and rare in my experience. A nice small cabinet size display specimen of this prized material. Valued at $800.
