Item Description

Specimens are rare from this small, obscure, extinct antimony mine. This impressive, color-contrasting, 3-dimensional plate hosts striking jackstraw clusters and isolated prismatic and acicular, highly lustrous to moderately moderately lustrous, stibnite crystals to about 4 cm. The matrix is nearly solid stibnite dramatically complimented by the kaolinite. The piece displays very well from many angles. VERY RARE and most excellent OLDER material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Previously in the British Museum and then the Jack Parnau Collection, according to his label.
