Item Description
Scintillating metallic stibnite needles fill numerous clefts in the fractured large matrix on this extreme California rarity. Mineral specimens of any species are rare from this extinct open pit sulfur-mercury mine (a Superfund site). This fine rarity displays well without aid. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and collected in about 1964 below the sulfur level near the bottom of the pit by Jack Crowley (?) according to Bob's label. An early Trimingham piece with a T-81 number.
